A leak in the shower prompted the remodel of the homeowners’ master bathroom. Since the repairs that were needed for the shower would require removal of the tile walls and floor, they decided it would be time to go ahead and do a full bathroom repair & remodel.
The double vanity was divided into his and her with each vanity on a separate side of the bathroom, thus giving the owner their own spaces within the bathroom. The new vanities are a cherry wood with a shaker style door style and a bourbon finish. The White Zen quartz countertop offsets the deep rich color of the new vanities. Each vanity has a new medicine cabinet built into the mirrors, providing more storage space for the day to day used items. The Mother of Pearl mosaic backslash at the vanities is carried around the room tying everything together.
The shower was moved from its original location and is now located next to one of the new vanities. The new and larger shower is fully tiled to the ceiling including the ceiling with a white marble like tile with a brown hew marbling. With the walls and ceiling of the new shower tiled, the shower also becomes a relaxing steam shower. To further the spa like feeling in the new shower, two handheld showers on slide bars and three body spray jets were installed.
The tiled corner platform tub was removed and replaced with a clean lined free standing air jetted tub with a floor mounted faucet. Although the tub did not change locations, it was rotated to find a home against the wall. This allows plenty of room between the tub and the new vanity.
In order to help tie the bathroom together the marble like tile that was used in the shower was also used as a wainscot surrounding the remainder of the bathroom. To offset the new light colored tiled walls, a wood tile plank was used for the new flooring.
With the bathroom repair & remodel now complete, the new master bathroom is a relaxing place for the owners and suites their style.
