The main focus of this second story expansion remodel of this 1913 Craftsman was to make sure that the remodel and addition blended with the existing.
An addition was added to the recently remodeled kitchen to add a new eating space, a mudroom and a rear entry.
An existing bedroom on the first floor was utilized to create a new staircase to the bedrooms. In order to minimize the effect of the addition, we set back the second floor addition from the front, we reduced the height of the second floor walls and created large dormers for head height.
With this second story expansion remodel now complete, it is hard to tell that the almost 800 square foot second floor addition was ever done. It blends seamlessly in with the existing home.
