Renewal Remodels & Additions, along with some incredible volunteers, has had the opportunity to build homes for two different families in need over the past two years. On our first trip to Tijuana, Mexico in March 2016, we built a house for a young couple with a 5-year-old son and another child on the way. They lived in a small one-room shack made of plywood with a tarp roof. Last April, volunteers traveled to Ensenada, Mexico to build a new home for another family. Max and Erika Vazquez-Conde, along with their three young children lived in a small 10×10 home made of scrap wood and tarps. We were thrilled to travel and lend our building and remodeling expertise to both of these families.
Over the course of two days, our teams worked tirelessly to construct and furnish a new home. Once the projects were completed we stood in a circle with the families and each person involved in the building process held the key to the house and spoke words of hope and blessing. The reactions of the families when they stepped through their very own front door to their new home are moments that we will never forget – and we are ready to do it again for more families in need!
This upcoming April, Renewal Remodels & Additions along with volunteers from BrooksPro Holiday Lighting and Puyallup Foursquare Church will be building homes for three different families in Tijuana, Mexico through Youth With a Mission’s “Homes of Hope” program.
These life-changing experiences were made possible by the gracious support and donations from our community. If you are looking for a cause to donate to and spread a little holiday cheer this season, please consider donating to our effort. You can do so online by visiting https://ywamsdb.webconnex.com/teams and reference our team name: Renewal Remodels & Additions. Your generous donation allows us to cover expenses for the volunteers as well as the cost of the home and furniture for the family.
We are looking forward to the opportunity to assist another family by not only building them a home, but also building a brighter future.
