Superintendent

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

To provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee & manage multiple job sites
  • Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization
  • Maintain daily log of activities on the jobsite
  • Ability to use project management software and other types of technology to support the job Consistent Communication with all parties (Internal & External)
  • Schedule and coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with contracted scope of work.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Identify and take corrective action if necessary, relating to r non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards for all onsite.
  • Identify & resolve conflicts on jobsite.
  • Confirm subcontractor has completed and corrected any deficiencies identified prior to signoff of work Attend meetings as required.
  • Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts Assist in obtaining permits or approval of revisions as needed.
  • The ability to read and understand Blueprints
  • Responsible for securing of the jobsite at beginning and end of the day.
Framer/Carpenter

The Carpenter/Framer’s role is to construct and repair building frameworks and structures—such as stairways, door-frames, partitions, and rafters—made from wood and other materials. The Carpenter may also install windows, doors, siding, drywall, kitchen cabinets, and trim. They will maintain a professional, ethical, and positive attitude with a high level of customer service while working with sub-contractors as well as the homeowners.

Essential Functions

Demolition

  • Assist laborers w/ demolition
  • Building temporary walls for support during demo

Framing

  • Knowing and understanding blueprints, building plans and specifications
  • Frame floors, walls, roofs and decks
  • Frame openings for windows, doors, skylights, etc.
  • Installing windows and exterior doors
  • Install sub-flooring and underlayment

Siding

  • Exterior trim and siding
  • Caulking to prep for painting

Drywall and Paint

  • Patch and texture drywall
  • Caulking and prep for paint
  • Touch up paint

Finish Carpentry

  • Installing cabinetry, millwork and interior doors
  • Install hardware on doors, windows and cabinets

Misc

  • Install and connect appliances
  • Excavations on small foundations and pads
  • Form and pour small foundations and pads
  • Clean and inspect work areas
  • Support superintendents

Work Environment
This construction job operates indoors and outdoors. Work required outdoors is subject to varying weather conditions. This role routinely uses various materials and power equipment. Job requires the ability to be able to work in cramped spaces, frequent lifting, standing, and kneeling.

Travel
Travel required for this position.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1+ years’ experience in rough carpentry/framing, 1+ years’ experience in finish carpentrya plus
  • Skilled Certifications are a plus but not required
  • Site planning experience a plus

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a drug screening & background check
  • Valid driver’s license w/ clean driving record
  • Reliable transportation with applicable insurance coverage
  • Possession of basic hand tools
  • Extensive knowledge of power tools, including skill saw, miter saw and jigsaw
  • Capable of climbing on ladders and carrying at least 80 pounds
Laborer

The construction laborer takes care of all general labor items on a project. The laborer assists the carpenters and superintendents in work on residential construction projects. A positive attitude, drive to complete tasks, and good customer service are essential for success in this role.

Essential Functions

Job Setup

  • Transport and install Renewal sign for all job starts
  • Prep floors, doorways, banisters, railings, counters, etc. for demo and work in remodeled areas
  • Zipper wall, and dust containment prep

Demolition and Excavating

  • Demolition of specified areas (interior and exterior of project)
  • Excavation and grading
  • Debris sorting, hauling and removal

Concrete work

  • Breakup concrete and/or assist with placement of concrete
  • Mix and pour concrete and/or assist with concrete pouring

Jobsite Cleanup

  • Clean up job sites, vacuum, sweeping, wiping down walls and disposing of debris
  • Load, Transport and Dump Garbage to maintain jobsite cleanliness
  • Encourage Subcontractors to maintain jobsite cleanliness

Assist

  • Assist Carpenters and Superintendents/Project Managers as needed
  • Notify Superintendents/Project Managers of job issues as needed

Experience driving trucks w/ trailer a plus

  • Must be 25 years old or older, and have previous driving experience
  • Secure and transport loads
  • Keep truck clean, and empty of garbage
  • Monitor tools that belong with the truck

Work Environment

Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Designer’s role is to plan the interior look and feel of a project. The design space will very between small to large and is not limited to a residential space only. Their work should have an artistic appeal, yet be functional at the same time, adapted to the purposes of the everyday living and working of the client. The Designer should be able to collaborate with architects and other specialists and consult with the owners of the space to create the best design. They will also maintain a professional, ethical, and positive attitude with a high level of customer service.

Essential Functions

  • Attend & facilitate client meetings
  • Determine the client’s goals and requirements of the project
  • Consider how the space will be used and how people will move through the space
  • Sketch preliminary design plans in 2D or 3D based on the project
  • Specify materials and fixtures, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures
  • Create cabinet designs & layout with accurate measurements and style to fit the working space
  • Prepare final plans using computer applications
  • Create a timeline for the interior design project and estimate project costs
  • Place orders for materials and oversee installing the design elements
  • Visit after the project to ensure that the client is satisfied
  • Order materials from selected vendors for home remodeling projects based on homeowners specifications.
  • Attend design and production meetings to give input and feedback on projects
  • Compile accurate material specifications into construction contract agreement in order to move projects into production

  • The capacity to address challenges, such as construction delays and the high cost or sudden unavailability of selected materials, while keeping the project on time and within budget.
  • Strong sense of proportion and visual awareness, to understand how pieces of a design will fit together to create the intended interior environment.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Administrative 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday., Full-time status.

Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design required
  • 5-10 years of experience Remodeling/Construction Industry
  • Must be proficient in the following: AutoCAD, Revit, Chief Architect, 2020 Design Software, Microsoft Office, Adobe

Estimator (Remodel Consultant)

Summary
The Remodel Consultant is the first face of the company to prospective clients. The Remodel Consultant will be responsible for creating and managing estimates and job in the residential market. This position will be responsible to meet with clients, develop quality and competitive estimates utilizing company provided templates or programs, manage work to completion, review budgets and communicate progress with clients and management. The Remodel Consultant will create bid packages and review for thoroughness to support completion of construction contract.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitate and lead for client consultation meetings. Take notes & photos, establish report with customer
  • Prepare a written estimates based on accurate quotes for labor and materials for scope of work to be presented to the customer.
  • Creation of Design Agreement
  • Update and Finalize budgets & pricing prior to contract
  • Contracts: write project contracts, incorporating the cost of goods estimate and all aspects of design, to complete sale of a project
  • Works closely with architects and other professionals.
  • Schedules meeting with clients and other support staff as needed
  • Navigates and understands building codes
  • Processes all necessary paperwork in a timely fashion
